Profile on Kirrin Finch
As society continues to evolve and embrace diversity, fashion labels are also honing their approach to catering for LGBTQ consumers. Insert Kirrin Finch, a clothing company founded by Brooklyn-based couple Laura Moffat and Kelly Sanders Moffat. They created a collection of menswear-inspired button-ups designed to fit the female body. At Kirrin Finch, empowering the LGBTQ community is at the core of who they are. The name itself, Kirrin Finch, was inspired by iconic fictional tomboys Georgina Kirrin from โThe Famous Fiveโ series and Scout Finch from "To Kill A Mockingbird."
In an effort to make their consumer feel as unique and special as they believe each one is, the brand prides itself on custom fits and detailed design that stands out from the ill-fitting menswear or overly frilly womenswear out there.
Since the fashion industry is one of the most pollutive industries, second only to the oil industry, Kirrin Finch believes it is essential for the brand to have environmentally sustainable practices. Incorporating organic options and low impact dyes makes their apparel friendlier to the earth and to the people making (and wearing) them. KF has done meticulous research and makes due diligence to have sustainable practices by manufacturing their designs locally, utilizing all-natural fabrics, and keeping jobs in the USA.
